Doxymag®-O, 1L is a veterinary antibacterial solution for oral administration. It contains doxycycline, an antibiotic belonging to the tetracycline group. Doxycycline inhibits protein synthesis in microbial cells and is active against a range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as mycoplasmas.
Indications
For use in poultry and pigs to treat infections caused by doxycycline-susceptible microorganisms, including:
Chronic respiratory diseases.
Colibacillosis.
Pasteurellosis and salmonellosis.
Mycoplasmosis.
Hemorrhagic septicemia.
Necrobacillosis and anaplasmosis.
Enzootic abortion.
MMA syndrome in sows: metritis, mastitis, and agalactia.
Other infections caused by doxycycline-susceptible pathogens.
Composition per 1ml
Doxycycline hyclate — 100mg, calculated as doxycycline base.
Excipients: polyvinylpyrrolidone, monoethanolamine, magnesium chloride hexahydrate, purified water.
Administration and Dosage
Administer orally through drinking water.
Poultry: 1ml per 1L of drinking water for 3–5 days.
Pigs: 1ml per 10kg of body weight for 4–5 days. In severe cases, treatment may continue for 7–10 days.

Contraindications and Precautions
Do not use in animals hypersensitive to doxycycline or tetracycline antibiotics.
Do not use in laying hens or replacement pullets intended for egg production during the two weeks before the onset of laying.
Do not use in pregnant or nursing sows.
Do not combine with bactericidal antibiotics, antacids, or products containing iron, magnesium, calcium, or aluminium.
Doxycycline may increase skin photosensitivity. Protect treated animals from direct sunlight.
Withdrawal Periods
Poultry may be slaughtered for meat no earlier than 7 days after the last administration.
Pigs may be slaughtered for meat no earlier than 10 days after the last administration.
Meat from animals slaughtered before the end of the withdrawal period may be used to feed fur-bearing animals.
Storage
Store in the original, tightly closed packaging, protected from direct sunlight and separately from food and feed, at temperatures between +2°C and +25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Shelf life: 2 years. Once opened, unused product must not be stored for later use.
