Oxytocin is a peptide hormone that increases uterine and mammary gland smooth muscle contractions.

Indications:
🐄 Weak labor contractions
🐖 Uterine atony
🐑 Retained placenta
🐕 Postpartum hemorrhage
🐈 Lack of milk after birth

Dosage:
Mares & cows — 4–5 ml
Sows — 2–4 ml
Sheep & goats — 1–3 ml

Contraindications:
🚫 Closed cervix, malpresentation, hypersensitivity.

Withdrawal period:
🥩 Meat — 1 day
🥛 Milk — 1 day
